A building with an absent owner
Many of the newer blocks are owned by investors rather than run by a facilities company. That makes the useful system one the landlord can check from another country: entry by phone, alerts that mean something, and recording that keeps itself without anybody on site.
Townhouses with shared walls
Neighbours on both sides and a small yard change what a camera may see. The angle that covers your own back door without looking into somebody's kitchen is a narrow one, and it is worth getting right at the survey.
Tenants changing often
Where a property is let, the system has to survive a handover: codes that can be reissued rather than keys that go missing, and an owner's access that does not depend on the last tenant's phone.
Worth knowing
In a let property, agree with the landlord who holds the admin account before anything is commissioned. It is the single most common cause of a system nobody can get into a year later.
