SIRA compliance

SIRA-compliant security systems, from survey to sign-off.

The Security Industry Regulatory Agency (SIRA) regulates security systems at commercial premises in Dubai — private homes are not covered. We're a SIRA-approved company with a SIRA-licensed team, and we handle the whole process from A to Z: survey, drawings, approval, installation, commissioning, documentation and maintenance. Read our SIRA guide.

Who must comply

Does it apply to your premises?

The manual covers the establishment types listed under the law — among them hotels, shopping malls, hospitals, schools, warehouses and pharmacies. It is the single question we are asked most, and it has a simple answer: send us your trade licence and we will tell you, free, before you spend anything. Check my premises.

And homes?

SIRA's requirements are for commercial premises. A private villa or apartment is not a regulated establishment, so a homeowner has no SIRA duty to meet and no documentation to file — the rules in the manual simply do not apply to you. We build home systems to the same standard anyway, because it is the standard we work to. See security for homes.

Security Industry Regulatory Agency (SIRA)

Maple Technologies Security Systems LLC is a SIRA-approved security systems company, working to the Security Industry Regulatory Agency's Preventive Systems Manual. SIRA regulates the trade; it does not endorse this website.

Regulated premises

A system that satisfies the manual, and the paperwork that proves it.

The process

Seven steps to a compliant system.

The same path on every regulated project — and the one we follow for everyone else too.

  1. 1

    Site survey & risk assessment

We visit, assess the risks and confirm the establishment's category.

  2. 2

    Design & drawings

Camera positions, coverage and system layout drawn to the category's requirements.

  3. 3

    Equipment selection

Cameras, recorders and devices chosen to meet the manual's technical requirements.

  4. 4

    Installation

Carried out by our SIRA-licensed technicians.

  5. 5

    Testing & commissioning

Every device tested, recording periods verified, the system commissioned.

  6. 6

    SIRA documentation

We prepare and submit the documentation the regulations require.

  7. 7

    Handover & training

Your team learns to use the system; you receive passwords and records.

Retention

Thirty-one days, always moving.

The manual sets a minimum of 31 days of recording for a regulated premises. What that means in practice is a window that shifts every night: today is written at one end and the oldest day is overwritten at the other. It is why storage has to be sized for the whole window at the design stage - and why an incident reported late may have nothing left to look at.

Checking that the window is still the full length is part of every preventive visit, because a failing disk quietly shortens it long before it stops recording altogether.

At handover

What you receive.

The records an establishment needs — kept up to date afterwards under an AMC.

  • System design drawings
  • A list of the installed equipment
  • Commissioning and test records
  • Administrator passwords and user accounts, handed over in writing
  • Training for the people who will use the system
  • The maintenance log, started at handover

Existing systems

Bringing an older system up to standard.

Moved into a regulated category, failed an inspection, or inherited a system with no paperwork? We survey it against your category, write up what falls short and quote to fix it — often reusing cabling and some of the equipment.

About SIRA

This is a plain-language summary of SIRA's requirements, not legal advice. Requirements differ by category and change over time — we confirm what applies to your premises on the survey.
