Does SIRA applyto my business?

It is the question we are asked most. Send us your trade licence and we will answer it.

SIRA regulates security systems at commercial premises in Dubai — shops, warehouses, clinics, schools, hotels and more. The activity on your licence decides which category you are in, and the category decides what the system must do. We check it for free, before you spend anything.

If you are a homeowner, you can stop here: SIRA does not regulate private homes. Security for homes →

Three steps

How the check works

  1. 01

    Send us the licence

WhatsApp or email the trade licence, or just type the activity printed on it into the form. That wording is what decides the category — not the company name, not the size of the shop.

  2. 02

    We check the manual

We look your activity up against the current Preventive Systems Manual and the establishment types listed under Dubai Law No. (12) of 2016.

  3. 03

    You get a written answer

In plain English: whether it applies, what the category requires — cameras, recording period, maintenance — and what it would take to satisfy it. Free, and yours to take anywhere.

Or type it here

Tell us the activity.

If the licence isn't to hand, the activity line is enough to start. We'll ask for the document only if the wording is ambiguous.

Whatever the answer, you are under no obligation. If SIRA doesn't apply to you, we will say so — it is a shorter conversation than the one that follows a failed inspection.

What compliance involves →

Copy it word for word if you can — the wording is what decides the category.

or email the licence

Free, and no obligation. We tell you what the manual says about your category - whether or not it leads to a job for us. We can't issue a SIRA ruling; only SIRA can.
