For business

Security systems for retail & showrooms

Deter theft, watch the till and understand how customers move.

Shops lose stock at the door, at the till and in the stockroom. We cover all three with cameras placed for identification, alarms for after hours and analytics that show footfall and queues — designed to SIRA's manual where your shop falls into a regulated category.

A typical system

What we'd usually install

  • Entrance cameras positioned for face identification
  • Cameras over each till and high-value display
  • Stockroom and back-door coverage with intrusion zones
  • Intruder alarm with a panic button at the counter
  • Background music and announcements by zone
  • An LED screen or window display for promotions

Every property differs — the survey decides the final design.

What matters

What matters for retail & showrooms

01

Shrinkage

Cameras at the entrance, over each till and on high-value displays — placed to identify faces, not just record movement.

02

After hours

An intruder alarm with a panic button at the counter and alerts to the owner or manager.

03

Store insight

People counting, heat maps and queue alerts show what customers do, not just what they buy.

04

Several branches

Each shop records locally; head office can view every branch from one app.

SIRA

SIRA and your premises

Many shops fall under SIRA's Preventive Systems Manual (2025): large and department stores, shopping malls, pharmacies, jewellers, tobacco shops and precious-goods stores each have a chapter. A large store, for example, needs cameras at the entrances in identification view, at the tills in recognition view, over display tables in observation view and along the aisles in detection view, number-plate recognition if it has its own parking, and SIRA's approved system-health monitoring service.

If your shop is covered, the system must be designed, installed and maintained by a SIRA-registered company. Read the manual.

Keeping it working

Every one of our AMC plans includes at least four preventive visits a year — the minimum SIRA's manual sets for regulated establishments.

  • Yes. Each branch keeps recording locally, and authorised people can view live and recorded footage from every branch on one app or a monitoring station.
